We all know that we “should” eat well and exercise. We also know that our level of health is in direct correlation with food and nutrition. Yet it seems that hardly anyone is actually following that advice as 60% of Americans are overweight.


People need to learn to eat for their body instead of their taste buds. Of course a pizza tastes better to most people than broccoli, but that taste sensation only lasts a few seconds and is often followed by a long period of “crashing.”


When you eat food for nutrition you will feel great, look great, and best of all you will be healthy. And to be honest, once your body gets used to eating nutritious food, (like it is designed to) you will start to only want food that is good for you.


Even if you are obese or just eat a bad diet it is never too late to start putting food and nutrition together. Below are some quick and easy ways to introduce food and nutrition into your lifestyle.


You Don’t Always Have To Eat The Same Thing


Many people will try to eat nutritious food, but their efforts will die off after a few weeks or months as they get tired of “eating the same thing.” Of course the same salad or bowl of fruit everyday is going to get boring, but there is no reason you can’t change it up or add things if you need to.


For instance if you want to change up a salad use different salad dressings, add chicken, tofu, fish, or add different cheeses, and nuts. There are also countless cookbooks that have hundreds of recipes for healthy food.


Did you know that food and nutrition does not only include fruit and vegetables? In my opinion the most important factor with the food you eat is that it is organic instead of processed. So go ahead and eat other foods, such as meat or pasta, just make sure that they are organic.


Organic food contains the natural nutrition that your body needs, while processed food (what you find in the aisles at the grocery store) is only filled with chemicals and preservatives. These chemicals and additives cause massive weight gain and are addictive. This is the sole reason so many people are fat.


Spicy Is Healthy


When it comes to food and nutrition a little spice fits right in. Spicy food is healthy to eat because it increases metabolism, gives you instant energy, and helps cleanse your body of harmful toxins.


I usually put cayenne pepper on almost everything I eat. It doesn’t change the taste, it just makes it spicy. Try it and you will see what I mean.


Don’t overdo it though. Some people can handle more spice than others so try different amounts of spice to see what you can handle.


As you can see combining food and nutrition is not that difficult. Once you learn how good it feels to be really healthy by eating nutritious food you won’t want to eat junk food anymore anyway. Good luck on your journey towards health and wellness!

Nutrition: the consumption of food and other nourishing material by the body.  It is an amazing 3 phase process that keeps our bodies going from day to day.

Phase I – Consumption of Food and Drink

We have all heard the saying: “You are what you eat”, well that cannot be truer. This is were it all starts, the beginning of nutrition for the body and why it is so important to consume the right food stuff.

Some of us are vegetarian, some vegan and some eat anything that is presented to them, but what matters is that what we consume is grown and prepared the right way and, off course, consumed in the correct quantities.

There are a myriad of diets, eating plans and diet pills on the market the help people loose weight and live a healthy life, but none of these will work if there is no passion to adhere to what is taught to you. You will not consume the correct amount of nutrients and will jump to the next diet / eating program / pill. The only way to get proper results is to make a conscious decision to live a healthy life through proper nutrition.

Phase II – The Body Breaks down Food and Drink into Nutrients

Once the correct nutrition is consumed and enters the body our fantastic machine goes to work to get the best out of the nutrition that was offered. The better the nutrition the easier it is to break it down into nutrients. The easier the breakdown quicker the body can get to Phase III and that is when we start feeling healthy, energetic and ready to take on every day with meaning.

This phase can only work properly when the nutrition we consume is of good quality, if not this phase will not work properly and we will be stuck excess waste that will materialize around the body and effect our daily lives negatively.

Phase III – The Nutrients Travel through the Body

This is were it all get exciting. Once everything is broken down into nutrients the body takes the nutrients and transfers it everywhere in the body via the blood stream. The nutrients then get used as fuel that keeps our body going daily. The more fuel our bodies contain, the more energy we have for everyday challenges.

It is then quite obvious that to give the body proper nutrition, a person has to eat and drink enough of the foods that contain key nutrients. NO special diets / eating programs / pills are necessary for this, just some common sense and a true will and passion to except yourself as a healthy person.

Obesity worldwide is out of control and our modern day lifestyles are not helping matters any. We live in a fast paced society and as a result health nutrition is compromised. The stresses of everyday life leave us less concerned about good nutrition. The negative impact of this, of course, is the effects on our health. People are becoming more conscious about their health nutrition and looking for answers.
