You can “thumbs-down” me all you want. It doesn’t change the fact. I wouldn’t say such an un-common thing unless it was true.

I’ve read everything I can about veganism (pro & con. That’s why I write this with full honesty…… and knowing. And I’ve been a vegan for 16 years.

I’ve studied the writings of people sustaining (and thriving on 40 grams of protein), and I’ve proven it to myself by doing it myself. That’s knowing.

PS – You may not believe this(and I’ll be called agest), but I gotta say it: When I saw your post, I said to myself “first I’ll see if this person is 18.” I’m getting good at this.

    When I ..

    Nonsense!
Go get yourself a copy of “The Vegetarian myth” by Lierre Keith and then tell me whether you can still write such a sentence with full honesty.

  5. Gary1111001 says:

Protein deficiency only exists in places of famine. Here the the US, the name for this deficiency is not even known.

  6. Gary1111001 says:

Protein needs have been exaggerated for profit. The average vegetarian gets 2 to 3 times the protein they need. That wears them out.

Plant-diets are the most natural way of eating The other primates eat mostly fruit. We do not need
the amount of protein that the meat ind/gov says we need.

  7. Gary1111001 says:

I think drugs should be viewed as the alternative. The first choice should be giving what the body needs to heal. And prevention. :)

  9. AimersSD says:

    yes

  10. kkjk7 says:

kidney beans, black beans, lentils help way more then any vitamins i agree with sleep.

  11. LoricaLady says:

Yeal, that caffeine can be so tempting. But one pays for it later. What we need to do is figure out why we need it and fix what is wrong.

  12. newton2013 says:

I didn’t believe it when I was told, but after a week of feeling alright, I had some coffee, and sure enough, back went out within hours. Most body pain weirdness came right back. I should have listened. Caffeine CAN take you right out. A weeks worth of time from bad to healing, reversed in a quarter of a day.

  13. newton2013 says:

Yes. Do you have known thyroid problems?

  14. LoricaLady says:

Yes, I use melatonin every night, thanks.
But I haven’t found chamomile to be that hellpful personally.

  15. Darkclergy says:

I do melatonin and chamomile to help with sleep.

  16. ItsMrTiKi says:

Yes anyone can be affected by adrenal problems.

  17. funnyvalentine1983 says:

Yes, they can. I read an article recently that said that this is equally prevalent among men and women.

  18. reptile1000 says:

    do men get this?

  19. forestskog says:

How do you know she is not a doctor?

  20. LoricaLady says:

Also, if you have taken a turn for the worse, maybe you have had too much caffeine. Probably none is best for us with adrenal issues. LIke many others, I have also found that Kombucha tea is a great energizer, not to mention appetite suppressant. It is pricey at health food stores – about $4. a bottle, but it’s cheap and easy to make. Many wonderful testimonials about Kombucha tea on the net. I didn’t like the taste at first, but was hooked and “addicted” very shortly. Love it!

  21. LoricaLady says:

Iscocort is good & its over the counter on the web. It takes about a month to feel the effects. You may need more than the 8 pills a day they recommend. You might benefif from a doctor who will give you a urine test (before the Isocort) not a blood test, then maybe give you some hydrocortisone.

  22. LoricaLady says:

I have also found melatonin to be helpful while my adrenals are healing. Also, tincture of chamomile & valerian about an hour before bed.

  23. LoricaLady says:

I have adrenal weakness and have been following her advice and it has helped. Yes, doctors can be a great help. But my own favorite doctor does admit he doesn’t know everything and is learning all the time. We should all be learning all the time and not close our minds to alternative health and doing our own research, taking basic charge of our own health. Why are you so upset? Are you a medical student? If so, learn alternative health also for yourself (!) and others.
